An important update on Rasmus Hojlund, Milan’s primary target to strengthen their attack, comes from England: after days of reports saying he intended to stay at Manchester United even after Sesko’s arrival from Leipzig, the Danish forward now appears to have changed his mind and is open to the possibility of moving to the Rossoneri. This was reported by the Manchester Evening News, which adds that the Red Devils are confident they will soon reach an agreement with Milan for the former Atalanta striker.
Compared to a few hours ago, when it was widely stated that Hojlund wanted to remain at United despite the many forward signings the Manchester club has made, something seems to have shifted in the Dane’s mindset. He may have realized there is no longer room for him at the Red Devils after the friendly against Fiorentina: for the first time this preseason, Rasmus remained on the bench for the entire match, as coach Amorim preferred to start Mason Mount, who is not a traditional striker, leading the United attack.
This seems to have triggered a change of heart in Hojlund, who is now open to a possible transfer to Milan. It is not yet clear under what terms the deal could go through: recent rumors suggest the player prefers a permanent move, while Milan is negotiating with United for a loan with a fee and an option to buy. United values him at £30 million, just under €35 million.
