The coming days could prove decisive for the future of Milan’s attack. If everything falls into place, the Rossoneri could have their new striker alongside Santi Giménez by the weekend. However, every piece of the puzzle needs to fit perfectly: the target is Rasmus Højlund, and while the deal is now more feasible than it was a few days ago, it’s still far from straightforward. There are, however, significant updates on the player’s side.

Hojlund's stance is changing...
After a few days of hesitation, stemming from his desire to try and earn a place at Manchester United this season, Højlund has realised there is no room for him. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Danish forward had a meeting with the club, which confirmed his exclusion from manager Amorim’s plans, something that was already fairly clear after his zero minutes in the recent friendly against Fiorentina. Faced with this reality, the former Atalanta striker is now starting to view the Milan option positively, with the Rossoneri currently showing the strongest interest. It’s still a complicated negotiation that could face hurdles, especially if other clubs come knocking with the lure of European football.
Costs and Massimiliano Allegri’s role
On Milan’s side, there is already a partial agreement with Manchester United, partial because the structure of the deal has been agreed, but the figures have not. Højlund could move on a paid loan with an option to buy. The Rossoneri consider a total package worth around €35 million fair, €5 million for the loan and €30 million for the permanent move. United, however, are pushing for at least €40 million.
The player’s willingness could be decisive, though at this stage he has only shown openness rather than full commitment, which would strengthen Milan’s hand at the negotiating table. This is why Massimiliano Allegri could play a key role, potentially calling Højlund to convince him once and for all. That is a subject that Tare discussed with the Milan coach during his visit to Milanello yesterday, where Zlatan Ibrahimović was also present.
