Luca Bianchin, journalist, wrote the following in La Gazzetta dello Sport about Christopher Nkunku:
"Tough days for balloon sellers. Christopher Nkunku inflated one after scoring against Lecce in the Coppa Italia, yet in the league he has not had a moment to celebrate. The red balloon he places in his sock every match stays there, waiting for better days. Milan fans are doing the math and they start to worry. Nkunku is on zero goals in more than 250 minutes of league action. Four and a quarter hours on the pitch without scoring. That is a lot."
"The transfer fee matters in this story because Milan, after a cautious summer as usual, spent 37 million plus bonuses for him. More than what they invested in January for Santiago Gimenez. The plan was to turn him into an important player, a source of energy in an attack that relies on breaks, transitions, and individual improvisation."
Was Nkunku overpriced?
"Let's Calm down, it is early November and Nkunku is a strong player. Between 2021 and 2023 he scored 36 goals in the Bundesliga, he is a French international, he covers multiple roles. At Milan he will be useful, no doubt. The question is to understand if he will be decisive. If he will be a starter."
