Rafael Leão missed Milan’s last match: the Rossoneri won 3–2 against Torino at San Siro without the Portuguese number 10, who watched from the stands. In fact, in the hours before the match, the player suffered a relapse of the adductor injury that had already troubled him earlier in the season.
Fortunately, it’s nothing serious or involving a lesion, but the club asked (and obtained) from Portugal permission to let Rafa stay home during this international break, with the Portuguese side already qualified for the World Cup.
This afternoon, training resumes at Milanello, although the first-team squad will be reduced to the bare minimum: only eleven players, including three goalkeepers and three injured outfield players. One is Rafa; the other two are Gabbia and Loftus-Cheek. According to Tuttosport today, Leão is scheduled to undergo therapy work this week, aimed at a return to group training that is hoped to happen as soon as possible. The goal for both the player and the staff is to recover in time for the match against Napoli.
