Christian Pulisic granted an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he spoke about AC Milan's situation and his coach in the US national team, Mauricio Pochettino. Below are his comments.

Pulisic on AC Milan's situation:

"I can only say that Milan is a great club, and I think they will sort everything out... In the end, I'm sure everything will be fine and the team will return to where it belongs, at the top. Right now, however, my focus is here in America."

On whether he is in contact with anyone in Milan:

"Yes, I'm in touch with some of the guys. We've spoken, and they also simply wished me well for the World Cup. In general, I have many very close friends in Italy whom I speak with every day."

On his relationship with Pochettino, Pulisic said:

"I see him only as my national team coach, here and now. Our relationship is good, definitely good. We've had some great conversations over the last few days: I know what he asks of me and what I can give him. I think that under him we're preparing in the best possible way to face this tournament."

On the differences between Pochettino and the coaches he had at Milan:

"I don't make comparisons, but I think he's the first South American coach I've had in my career. It's been a great experience, a real discovery. I like the passion; I like the footballing ideas he brings with his style. He demands great energy and constant intensity on the pitch."

On going without a goal in 2026 until recently:

"I said it after the friendly against Senegal: it was important to score, even though I didn't understand why people were talking only about that. Now I've broken the drought, and I hope people focus on something else, on this historic moment in front of all of us, which seems so crazy, almost surreal. We American footballers will never forget moments like these. But now the only objective is Paraguay: we'll really have to fight, but if we manage to win straight away, we'll send a strong message to the group."
