In the new interim structure of the AC Milan management area, the club is also considering Domenico Teti for the role of sporting director, in order to provide structure and operational support to the transfer market. The internal promotions of Jovan Kirovski and Bobby Gardiner respond to the need to immediately have contacts for agents and clubs, but a practical issue remains: neither of them holds the licence required to sign off on transactions.
This is why Teti’s profile could prove useful. Fresh from his spell at Wolverhampton, which ended after disagreements over the dismissal of Vítor Pereira, the Italian executive has almost twenty years of experience in Italy and abroad, having worked at Verona, Lugano, Sampdoria in Genoa, and Novara, contributing to the discovery of players such as Mauro Icardi and Sergio Romero, among others. He also has international experience in the Premier League, as well as with APOEL Nicosia and Al-Shabab. He would not be the major executive appointment Milan had been working towards, but rather a practical solution to get the club’s transfer activity moving again.
