AC Milan's pursuit of Konstantinos Karetsas is becoming increasingly risky due to strong competition from Borussia Dortmund. Previous signings from the Belgian league that failed to meet expectations are not seen as a concern, as the Rossoneri are convinced of the Greek youngster's immense potential.
To move forward with the deal, however, Milan are expected to first sell an increasingly unsettled Rafael Leao. Any delays could prove costly, with Borussia Dortmund already prepared to submit an offer worth €30 million.
The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport adds that Karetsas has yet to make a final decision on his future. While Borussia Dortmund can offer Champions League football, the appeal of AC Milan's new era under Ruben Amorim has also made a strong impression on the talented midfielder.
