Gerry Cardinale is once again expected at Milanello this week to watch the team and Ruben Amorim. The Milan owner will then also be in Turin on Sunday evening for the Rossoneri’s Serie A opener against Torino. His latest visit to the Carnago training centre will, of course, provide another opportunity to discuss the transfer market with the Portuguese coach.
Amorim has asked Cardinale for reinforcements. At least three should arrive:
The Italy-based newspaper Tuttosport reported this morning that, during last week’s meeting, in addition to providing the list of players who have been cut and are no longer part of his plans (Tomori, Odogu, Fofana and Nkunku), Amorim also asked for five or six new signings. At least three will definitely arrive: a defender, a wing-back and an attacking midfielder. Milan need reinforcements of the calibre of Gonçalo Ramos and Mario Gila, players who are already ready and capable of genuinely taking the team to the next level. It is no secret that much will depend on departures, but the Rossoneri are already working on the incoming market as well, assessing several profiles.
Milan with targets for defence, wing-back and attacking midfield:
In defence, Tiago Gabriel’s stock is rising again, although Lecce are demanding a substantial fee. For this reason, the Rossoneri could consider including a player in the deal, such as Filippo Terracciano or Warren Bondo. At wing-back, Fiorentina’s Dodô and Lazio’s Nuno Tavares remain players of interest, although other names (perhaps ones that have not yet emerged publicly) cannot be ruled out.
In attacking midfield, Amorim is expecting at least one signing. Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri remains on the Rossoneri’s radar, although Arsenal rejected Milan’s initial proposal for a loan with an option to buy set at €40 million. In the background, there are also the "usual" names: Osorio (Midtjylland), El Mala (FC Koln), Uzun (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Brahim Diaz (Real Madrid).
