Milan’s transfer activity shows no sign of slowing down the day after their 2-1 victory over Torino. The coming hours could prove decisive for the future of Rafael Leão, with a Premier League club looking to enter the race for his signature. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku’s move to RB Leipzig is all but done, with the player already travelling to Germany to complete the final steps. A new name has also emerged from England: a 2003-born attacking midfielder currently playing for Liverpool. There was also reason to celebrate for the Primavera, who secured their first win of the season.
Nkunku travelling to Leipzig
Christopher Nkunku’s transfer to RB Leipzig is done, with the Frenchman set to return to the club where he scored 70 goals and provided 56 assists in 172 appearances between 2019 and 2023. According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Philipp Hinze, the player will undergo his medical with Leipzig tomorrow, Tuesday 25 August. The report has also been backed up by well-known transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio on his website.
On Monday evening, the French forward boarded a flight from Milan to Germany, where he will undergo the required medical tests tomorrow.
Milan: Aston Villa emerge as a potential destination for Leão
According to English journalist Pete O'Rourke on his X account, Aston Villa are considering Leão as a potential attacking reinforcement for Unai Emery’s side ahead of the 2026/27 season. The report has also been confirmed by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia and Luca Bianchin of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Villans have not yet submitted an official offer to Milan, but the situation could develop quickly during the final days of the summer transfer window, which remains open until 1 September, as pointed out via Pianeta Milan.
Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Moretto explained that Aston Villa’s interest in Leão is still a long way from becoming something concrete:
"Both the player’s entourage and Jorge Mendes, who is working on behalf of Milan to find him a new club, are making enquiries with several clubs. As far as Aston Villa are concerned, this is currently just a proposal or a transfer idea. Mendes’ job at this stage is precisely to reconnect the parties, reactivate relationships and develop negotiations.”
Liverpool’s Elliott linked with Milan
According to the latest rumours today, Milan have added Harvey Elliott to their list of potential attacking reinforcements. A product of Liverpool’s academy, the left-footed attacking midfielder was born in 2003 and spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Aston Villa.
With his contract expiring in 2027, Liverpool will only consider a permanent transfer and have ruled out another loan for regulatory reasons. Transfermarkt values the attacking midfielder at €20 million, but the Reds could accept a lower fee to avoid losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
