Ex AC Milan's legendary player Ruud Gullit granted an interview to those at 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. Here are his comments:
Ruud, how does it feel to see your Milan side out of the Champions League?
"I’m disappointed. Some clubs have the Champions League in their DNA. Last season, the Rossoneri came within touching distance of qualifying, but right at the crucial moment they wasted months of hard work. I hope to see them back at the top soon, but to reach the highest level, you need players who know how to make the right decisions on the pitch."
Among the notable absentees this year, there is also Juventus. And today the Rossoneri play in Turin. Gullit commented:
“Last year, I watched Milan-Juventus at San Siro and it was a disaster. No goals, no entertainment. On paper, it was supposed to be a big match, but instead... I hope things will be different this time.”
Milan are now expecting plenty of goals from Gonçalo Ramos. Is he the right man to break the Rossoneri’s centre-forward curse?
“I like Gonçalo, but you can’t expect one striker to solve all the problems. How many balls does he receive? How do the other players play, considering they are supposed to provide him with service in the penalty area? Ramos deserves to be trusted, but he needs to be supported by the rest of the team.”

"It’s difficult to say after just two matches. Spalletti is a good coach, while Milan have appointed Amorim and are focusing on a mix of young and experienced players. Any team that changes a lot always needs time, and this Milan side must work to regain its confidence."
