The first break of the season is now behind us. At Milanello, preparations are underway for the match against Sassuolo, but Gerry Cardinale and AC Milan's management remain active in identifying the right players to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad.

The main targets for January are now clear, although the next two and a half months could, even if they do not change the priorities, bring potential new issues to light. At the top of the list remains Gonçalo Inácio, the Sporting Lisbon centre-back whom Milan would probably have signed for €40 million right at the end of the summer transfer window had the Portuguese club found a replacement.
And then, in the background, there is the dream of signing Endrick, who was also pursued in August but was prevented from leaving Madrid by Florentino Pérez and José Mourinho. The Brazilian, who is highly regarded by Roma in Italy, although several clubs across Europe are ready to welcome him, has so far been given very little playing time under the 'Special One', partly due to an injury. If the situation does not change between now and Christmas, the logical outcome could be another loan move (last season he went to Lyon, where he performed extremely well).
One thing is certain: if Camarda fails to establish himself as a regular, which will also depend on producing performances that justify consistent playing time, and Hutchinson does not fully convince, Milan will need reinforcements somewhere between the attacking midfield and forward positions regardless.
As for the left flank, the club will assess the situation as matches go by and depending on the system Amorim chooses to adopt. For the summer of 2027, however, the focus is already clear, at least for one position: central midfield. Regardless of how Jashari and Comotto develop, Milan will probably (and it is better to use the conditional here) have to deal with Modrić’s departure at the end of the season.
AC Milan will need a midfielder to play alongside Rabiot, with talks over the latter’s contract renewal set to begin shortly. The Rossoneri are currently looking towards the Premier League, particularly Bournemouth, where Alex Scott plays, as reported by TMW.
Born in 2003 and right-footed, Scott enjoyed a breakthrough particularly last season, and his performances at the beginning of the 2026–27 campaign have convinced Tuchel to call him up to the national team. He has made two appearances: coming on as a substitute against the Czech Republic and starting in the 7–0 victory in Croatia, a match in which he suffered a quadriceps injury that could force him to miss the Europa League clash against Milan on October 22.
Milan interested in Alex Scott, but not only...
Naturally, Milan are not the only club interested in Scott, but the Rossoneri are firmly in the picture, just as they are with Yasin Ayari, another player born in 2003, who plays for Brighton and the Swedish national team. Ayari has been on the Rossoneri's radar for at least a couple of years. Speaking of midfielders, Milan are reportedly among the many clubs interested in Justin Ehikioya Ejodamen, a 15-year-old Borussia Dortmund player born in 2011, as relayed by Tuttosport, the Turin-based Italian newspaper in this morning's print edition.
