AC Milan are looking to pick up their first points in the Europa League after losing to Benfica in their opening match. Tomorrow evening at 18:45, the Rossoneri will face Salzburg away from home in the second round of the league phase.
The final training session is currently under way at Milanello, having begun with a brief speech from Ruben Amorim to the squad. All available first-team players are taking part, with the exception of injured duo Matteo Gabbia and Alexis Saelemaekers, as well as, surprisingly, Samuel Chukwueze. Warren Bondo, who has been reintegrated into the squad, is also training with the group, but he is not on Milan's UEFA list and therefore cannot be called up.
Chukwueze is missing from the session alongside Gabbia and Saelemaekers because he is dealing with some slight muscle fatigue, as reported by Milannews.it. It is not expected to be anything serious, however, and the Nigerian winger should still be included in Ruben Amorim's squad for the match.
AC Milan vs Salzburg: Amorim set to rotate heavily
As for Milan's probable line-up, further details are expected at Ruben Amorim's press conference, scheduled for 18:30 at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg. Strahinja Pavlović, a former Salzburg player, will also speak alongside the Portuguese coach.
Compared with the recent league match against Sassuolo, changes are expected across all areas of the pitch, with Amorim set to make extensive use of his squad.
Players who have yet to feature this season, or who have only played a handful of minutes, could be given opportunities. Fikayo Tomori, for example, could make his first appearance of the campaign in defence, while Francesco Camarda could give Gonçalo Ramos a rest up front, as relayed via Milan News.
Davide Bartesaghi is likely to get an opportunity on the left, while Alphadjo Cissé could feature in the attacking midfield role. It remains to be seen whether Chukwueze, who is carrying a minor issue, will play on the right. Christian Comotto could also make his first appearance of the season tomorrow.
