Luca Bianchin, journalist, commented as follows in La Gazzetta dello Sport on Diawara’s performance against Udinese:
“Sankhoun Diawara in the starting line-up. And Sankhoun Diawara in the starting line-up as a left-back, not as a centre-back in a back three. Welcome to the big surprise of the evening: the Frenchman who arrived from Troyes was on the pitch from the first minute, even though he had never played in Serie A, even though he had never started for Milan, even though at most he had seen Ligue 2 up close. Brave.
How did Sankhoun Diawara do in Udinese - AC Milan match?
"Well, he did well. Probably better in the first half, which began with a good intervention on Chakvetadze. The physical attributes are there and are not in question. On this Sunday evening, he showed that he can play at this level, at least against an opponent in difficulty like Udinese. The risk paid off: Milan now have one more player in their rotation.”
