Yesterday, the assembly of the Serie A was held to take stock of the season that has ended, as usual like every year.
A news that caused a sensation arrived from this meeting, is the possible creation of an Italian Super League conceived by the president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentis, reports La Repubblica.
The proposal of Napoli's owner was the following: Serie A league with only 16 teams and just one relegation spot. The idea was only accepted by Lazio's president and owner Claudio Lotito.
The orientation of the other teams seems to be on the 18-team reform. Updates are expected on 30 June, which is the date of the next meeting, as per the newspaper report.
