As reported today by MilanNews, those at Casa Milan appear to be all in for Udinese man Rodrigo De Paul. The Argentine is coming off of a fantastic season, and has thrust himself into the European football spotlight. With the rumored departure of current number 10 Hakan Calhanoglu, Milan will prioritize pursuing De Paul.
Calhanoglu currently has an offer from Milan, but has yet to issue a response. Many have reported that the Rossoneri do not expect Hakan to be back next season, and have their sights set on De Paul. Milan will not start an official aggressive move for the player until Hakan officially walks from the club.
Udinese is currently asking for 40 million euros for their player, and they are holding firm on the price. Coming off of his season that led to 18 goal contributions from the midfield, many expected a price tag in that range. Milan would like to spend less than that for one player this summer, and therefore the club has some reservations over the move. It has been rumored that the Rossoneri may try to offer some players to Udinese to lower the price point, but nothing has been confirmed as of now.
Athletic Madrid, too, are hot on the trail of the player. De Paul began his career in La Liga with Valencia, but he has certainly made a name for himself in Serie A. It will not be an easy summer for Milan if they look to pursue the player, but as of now, the profile has their interest.
