Enrico Castellacci, former doctor of the Italian national team, spoke of Christian Eriksen's illness. Here are the words to Sky Sport as he was sure to praise the captain Simon Kjaer for his heroic actions:
"We are facing a dramatic, tragic event. Unfortunately in Italy we are a little used to it because we have had events that have saddened us a lot in the past: from Astori to Morosini etc. Today we talk about it with a smile precisely because the boy has recovered and obviously my best wishes go for an immediate recovery."
About the medical aid:
"Assistance is fundamental and must be immediate in such an unfortunate event. Let us remember that a cardiac arrest is very dangerous because within 4/6 minutes you go into cerebral anoxia. The captain (Simon Kjaer) was really good and immediately realized the gravity of the situation. I have even read that he has freed the airways from the tongue and therefore has already taken a first medical step. Then immediate aid was decisive."
