As reported by CalcioMercato, Milan have shown interest in their former player Matteo Pessina, but Atalanta have already committed to the player for the future. The Italian has thrusted himself in to the world spotlight with a strong season at Atalanta, and now scoring a goal for Italy at the Euro 2020 competition.
Milan sold the player back in 2017 to Atalanta and were keeping an eye on him throughout the summer. Atalanta, however, have already claimed they plan to renew Pessina's contract until 2023 with raised wages, and have a plan for him as future captain for the club.
Atalanta certainly have faith in their 24-year-old midfielder and have no intention of putting him on the market. Maldini and Massara have been keeping their eyes on midfielders this summer, and Pessina is certainly a viable candidate. The player does appear to be off the radar, however, as Atalanta will look to lock up the Italian for a few more years.
