Dani Ceballos is linked with a move to AC Milan in order to replace Hakan Calhanoglu.
Many reports seem to agree that the former Arsenal player, who returned from a 2-season-loan to Real Madrid, is among the targets of the Rossoneri.
Speaking to the microphones of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish midfielder's former coach, Pepe Mel said the following:
"Signing Ceballos would be a champions hit for Milan. He can do better than Calhanoglu. I state that what I am about to say must be taken with a grain of salt , but he is a mix of Gattuso and Pirlo. For me, he played as a central midfielder and as a playmaker. He can do the number 10 role. He is the type of player who puts his soul into the team and an all-rounder. If he doesn't have the ball, then he'll go to take it."
The coach continues to praise the Spanish player of Real Madrid even further:
"He has great technique, a spirit of sacrifice and tactical flexibility", he said, "He likes to stay close to the area, serve the strikers, he can do both number 8 and number 10. Unfortunately he is not one who scores much, at Arsenal he has scored just two goals in two years."
"Dani is great with big challenges. , such as the derbies with Sevilla or the great classics against the big names in Spain, but 2015-16 was a difficult year for him. There were difficulties related to the renewal, so when we played at home the fans were constantly booing him. For him, being a fan of Betis, it was a big emotional blow. However, the louder the whistles were, the more he came to look for the ball, he carried the team on his shoulders."
