To reinforce the attacking midfield and replace the exit of Turkish playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu who chose to sign for city rivals Inter, AC Milan managers have reportedly set their sights on Real Madrid's player Isco.
According to what has been revealed by SportMediaset, AC Milan want a player who knows the Champions League well in the number 10 role. Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Los Blancos, has told Isco that he is not part of his technical and tactical project.
Contacts are ongoing with Real Madrid, claims the source with the cost of the player's card set at around 20 million euros. However, the obstacle is Isco's big salary as he currently earns 8 million euros per season. A salary cut is needed to make the deal happen.
In case of failure to bring the player to the San Siro, Milan management have identified Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig as an alternative profile.
