AC Milan continues to evaluate its options for the attacking midfielder role that should be reinforced in the transfer market after the exit of Hakan Calhanoglu who left to rivals Inter.
Several names have been linked to AC Milan's name in the mercato, and one name in particular has come back in fashion which is that of Josip Ilicic of Atalanta.
According to Quotidiano Sportivo, the player is not enjoying a regular starting spot anymore at Atalant under the coaching of Gian Piero Gasperini. The 33-year-old Slovenian would, reportedly, like to change air and look for a new adventure elsewhere.
The newspaper reports that the Rossoneri managers, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are thinking about snatching the playmaker of the Bergamo club.
Ilicic, currently, is training with his teammates, but he is waiting for Atalanta's management move, who are in turn waiting for an offer for him in order to be able to eventually launch an attempt to sign Sassuolo's forward Boga.
