Gianluigi Donnarumma, in the match of Italy against Spain at the San Siro, suffered from the whistles and booing of the AC Milan fans.
The goalkeeper has quickly become hated by many of the Rossoneri fans after leaving on a free to PSG and refusing to stay at Milanello.
His agent, Mino Raiola, spoke to Corriere dello Sport about this situation:
"I am disgusted by the boos at Gigio, and now I wonder why Milan did not officially intervene to distance themselves from the dispute, to defend him in some way, after that ignoble man appeared on a bridge in Milan with that banner. Shall we talk about the threats? Did he kill someone by chance? I don't know. if a father, what would he recommend to his son: stay at Milan or go to Paris Saint Germain."
Raiola continued to condemn the fans for the way they treated Donnarumma:
"It is shameful that a part of the fans took it out on a boy who did nothing wrong, whose fault would simply be that of having exercised the right of free choice. Because there are no other reasons to boo him… It is very strange that that group of fans is angry only with him, because when a player makes these choices the responsibility is not only on one side, but also on the other. What do I mean? What I said: I find it equally strange and very disappointing that Milan, who know the truth, have not distanced themselves from this unacceptable and unfair behaviour. Let me say that it is an episode that did not make us look good in front of the world. Did you notice the Busquets gesture? He understood the situation, the moment, what Gigio was going through. I really appreciated it".
On Maignan:
"Gigio is a guy who has always given everything both to the national team, contributing to the victory of the European Championship, where he was elected best player of the tournament. At Milan, he remained faithful in the darkest and most difficult moments of the club, putting his heart, commitment and professionalism into it until the last day. Donnarumma helped ot bring the team back to the Champions League."
