Franck Kessié, AC Milan's defensive midfielder who has done so well last season and been one of the most influencial players for Stefano Pioli on the pitch, is the talk of the press and media this season due to his contractual situation.
The player's contract ends in June 30, 2022 and there are no signs for a new agreement just yet. The Rossoneri are hoping to lock their star on a new deal in order not to lose him for free. But, the talks are proving to be difficult so far.
Gianluca Di Marzio provided the following updates on this front as he spoke to Williamhillnews.it (relayed by Milannews.it):
"Kessié's entourage (who during the Olympics had said that he wanted to stay) are considered excessive. At the moment there is therefore distance between the parties and to unblock the situation it will be necessary that the player, who is liked by half of Europe and who at zero would represent a real deal, makes a step to meet Milan halfway."
