As reported by today's edition of Corriere dello Sport, one of the AC Milan summer transfer targets is Real Madrid's Marco Asensio. However, signing him from the giants of La Liga will definitely not be an easy task.
The player whose contract expires at the end of the next season is requesting a net salary of 7 million euros per season. Besides that, there is tough competition for him: Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly in the race for him. These two have more resources than the Rossoneri and they are willing to please his financial demands.

What AC Milan could rely on in the negotiations to convince the player, though, is the Champions League football. To make Asensio lean more towards going to the San Siro, Paolo Maldini could leverage the Rossoneri's participation in UCL 2022/2023. Among other things, in recent days, the technical director of the club has spoken with Ancelotti, who has in turn opened the doors to a possible sale of Asensio.
