According to what is reported by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, tonight with Salernitana, AC Milan's head coach Stefano Pioli is looking for points to regain the 2nd place in the Serie A standings. For the 15th time out of 18 home games, the 70,000 spectators mark will be exceeded, with an average of over 72,000. The noteworthy exceptions are the 61,000 for the Dinamo Zagreb match for public order reasons, the 58,000 for the Coppa Italia match with Torino and the 68,000 in the league game again with Torino.

But the surprise is the projection for the overall revenue in June: €83.7 million, not including the possible Champions League semifinal, which would push the threshold beyond €90 million. The count starts from the league. In the 12 games at the Meazza, excluding Salernitana, the revenue was €32.3 million (average of €2.69 million), to which we must add the €23.5 million from the 3 Champions League group stage matches plus the record €9.1 million from the round of 16 match against Tottenham: total of €55.8 million. The projection for the last 7 Serie A games at San Siro (€18.9 million) brings the total to €74.7 million.

However, there is also the Champions League quarterfinals, for which at least a repeat of the revenue from the Tottenham match is conceivable. The total, without the hypothetical semifinals, reaches exactly €83.7 million. The difference compared to the recent past is glaring: in the balance sheet closed in June 2022, and partially conditioned by the pandemic, also in the influx to the stadiums, revenues were €32.5 million.

The Champions League, found again after 7 years, has given impetus to the AC Milan balance sheet: there are already €71 million raised by the ongoing tournament (compared to €47 million last year), and it is possible to exceed €100 million.
