As AC Milan's turbulent campaign unfolds, one figure emerges as one of its emblems. We are talking about the Belgian striker Divock Origi. The 27-year-old centre-forward, whose arrival on a free transfer from Liverpool in the summer of 2022 was heralded with great fanfare, had earned his stripes as a 'Reds legend' with his pivotal role in securing the Premier League and Champions League titles in 2019. Yet, the Origi that has graced the San Siro this season has been a mere shadow of his former self.

Failing to make an impact on any front, the striker's meager tally of just two goals (both scored against Monza and Sassuolo in October 2022 and January 2023, respectively) and a solitary assist in 27 appearances across Serie A, the Champions League, and the Italian Super Cup, has been a source of disappointment.

According to what has been reported by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, if Divock Origi were to leave in the summer transfer window, AC Milan would already have a replacement for him in mind. In fact, there are rumors of concrete interest from Milan in Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian center-forward from Bologna, born in 1989, has scored 8 goals and provided 1 assist in 18 Serie A and Coppa Italia games this season.

The former Inter player has a contract which is due to expire in the summer of 2025. But, he would take any good offer and opportunity that may come his way. AC Milan are indeed considering making a move for him if all the conditions for a transfer are there.
