In view of the game against Red Star Belgrade, AC Milan's coach Stefano Pioli spoke to Sky Sport network to discuss the upcoming challenge. Here are his statements as reported by Milannews.it:
On resuming the Europa League campaign:
"We return to a place in which Milan have often excelled. It was a long way to get here, we want to be a surprise in this competition too."
On turnover:
" This is a really demanding period which is taking place. In the next 18 days we will be playing six games. It will be important to dose our energies well, luckily I have almost the whole group available. I will choose a competitive team for tomorrow evening, then we will think about the derby."
On Mandzukic:
"Mario Mandzukic is feeling very well. I think he can start from the beginning tomorrow night."
On who should be resting on the bench:
"This is a particular and complicated season so far. We played the preliminaries and had many injuries, so some players had to play more often than usual. Now I will have to make my assessments."
On the defeat against Vincenzo Italiano's Spezia:
"We have to start again. We didn't play like we are Milan and this can be a positive aspect because if we lost playing as a Milan team, we would be here to make different assessments. We have to go back to our ways. It doesn't matter what we have done so far, but what we will do from now on does matter."
