Ismael Bennacer is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Algerian midfielder, who has been out since May 10 with a serious knee injury, is expected to return to Milanello at the beginning of next week - possibly as early as Monday - to begin the second phase of his rehabilitation, which should bring him back on the pitch by mid-December, according to initial estimates. It is likely that Bennacer will not return to the field with the Milan shirt before January, or even February, as the Africa Cup of Nations will also be held in early 2024 and Algeria is hoping to be able to use him. However, what he will start doing next week will be important for understanding the timeline for his return.

Bennacer, after his vacation, presented himself at the team's training camp at Milanello on July 10. A couple of days to be examined by the doctors of the Rossoneri club and to take stock of the path to follow.

Then he returned to Italy on August 8 to attend the "Trofeo Berlusconi", then - remaining in close contact with doctors and physiotherapists - he left to continue his rehabilitation in the heat between Algeria, Morocco and Qatar, where he has been since early September, as reported by Tuttosport.

In Doha, the midfielder attended the Formula 1 Grand Prix last weekend and yesterday met with local authorities at the FBQ Museum, including one of the Qatari sheikhs, Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, to whom he donated one of his Rossoneri No. 4 jerseys.
