AC Milan are keeping an eye on important opportunities to reinforce the squad in view of the summer. One of the few players to monitor are also the free agents.
An interesting profile who can be available on a free once the season ends is Spanish central defender Mario Hermoso. However, Atlético Madrid are also keen on renewing his contract while other clubs are interested in him.

The negotiation for the renewal with Atletico has reopened in recent days; Simeone has not yet come to terms with the idea of losing a player who has made a significant contribution to the team in the recent past as well as this season.
On the other hand, Geoffrey Moncada is very impressed with his interpretation of the role. In the coming days, more in-depth evaluations will be made with the American board because RedBird seems increasingly inclined to invest in younger profiles.
There is no shortage of interest from Italy, with Juventus and Milan involved. In addition to that, though, Calciomercato.com reveal that Premier League club Aston Villa is leading the race and want to swoop in in case of a split between Hermoso and Atletico Madrid. Aston Villa's head coach, Unai Emery has acted well in advance and is determined to see the move through. However, it requires time and patience because the Hermoso situation still has many factors to bear in mind which could influence the situation.
Hermoso is 28 years old and has been at Atlético Madrid since 2019. He has made 35 appearances this season across all competitions (Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup). He also managed to score two goals and register one assist to his name.
