Matteo Moretto, speaking in a video on Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel, has revealed a new name on AC Milan's list as the club prepares to sign a new defender in January:
"Within this video, I want to tell you about a new name regarding Milan. As you know, Milan want to sign a centre-back and want to strengthen their defence with a central defender in January. Gonçalo Inácio's name is certainly among the most appreciated, especially by Ruben Amorim, but the club is also working on younger profiles.
There are some young players whom Milan are following and monitoring, and whom they are also going to watch in person. The new name I am bringing you comes from Belgium, plays for Union Saint-Gilloise and is called Massiré Sylla. He is 21 years old, 196 cm tall, right-footed and has a contract expiring in 2030. He is Senegalese by nationality and a regular starter for Union Saint-Gilloise. He is showing great qualities, is very highly regarded, and Milan are among the various clubs keeping an eye on him.
So keep an eye on this name because he is on Milan's list. The Rossoneri are looking for experienced profiles who can have an immediate impact, but keep an eye on Sylla because he is one of the most promising young players and Milan are interested in him. Milan are monitoring him very closely."
Hardung's arrival with Krosche cannot be completely ruled out
Moretto then explained that, alongside Markus Krösche, the arrival of his right-hand man, Timmo Hardung, at Milan cannot be completely ruled out either:
"Despite Milan's denials, Krösche will be the club's new Head of Football. I also want to specify and clarify the possible role of Timmo Hardung, Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director.
Timmo Hardung is Krösche's right-hand man, and they have been working together for quite some time. The Frankfurt club have confirmed him as part of their structure, but it is not 100% certain that he will remain in Germany.
Milan remain interested in him, Krösche rates him extremely highly, and it cannot be ruled out that Milan could also make an attempt to sign him in the coming weeks.
Hardung has several offers. There are various clubs in Germany who rate him highly, including Nuremberg and Hannover, but keep an eye on the Milan option too, as it cannot be completely ruled out at this stage.
Krösche will have to integrate into an already established structure, the one built and devised by Gerry Cardinale. However, I would not rule out the possibility that, in the coming months, if the opportunity arises, Milan could also try to bring in Hardung. Krösche rates Hardung extremely highly and considers him very well prepared for his role."
