AC Milan's central defender, Fikayo Tomori, spoke to the media today at the inauguration of the new Milan Store. Here are his words:
How is Milan changing with Fonseca?
"Yes, we've changed a lot: obviously, the coach. We have new ideas, a good atmosphere. We're working well, hard, and we're excited now."
Lots of enthusiasm, the fans have asked you for the Scudetto. Tomori answered:
"Yes, we want it too. The new store is beautiful, not just for the fans but also for us, because we know we have many fans who want to be close to us, and this store is another way to do that."
Today is Alvaro Morata's day: what do you think of this great striker? He replied:
"I played with him at Chelsea. I know the qualities he has. He's a forward with speed, strength, and he can score goals. That's what we need for this season. Yes, we are excited. It's not confirmed, but we are happy."
Can Alvaro Morata be Olivier Giroud's replacement in terms of experience?
"We hope so. He's a different type of player, with different characteristics, but yes, we hope he can help us. We're excited for the new season."
What was the message you gave each other in the locker room with the new coach?
"Right now, we haven't talked much about the new season because we don't have all the players due to the Euros. But as I said, we're working well, hard, trying to do better than last year, as I mentioned, with a new coach, new ideas. We're working well, running a lot, but that's fine."
Have you heard from Tammy Abraham? Tomori answered:
"We vacationed together, but we didn't talk about football, just general conversation."
What confidence do you get with Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan staying? Tomori said:
"These are great players, players who help us a lot. Yes, when Ibra says they're staying, it's always a good thing."
What are the most noticeable changes compared to the past?
"We've worked a lot on pressing, on how we want to attack, defend, build from the back. Now, we need to play the matches and understand how we can improve, the intensity, the energy with and without the ball. We'll see when we play the first match against Rapid."
