Following France’s 1-1 draw with Italy, Adrien Rabiot spoke to Sky Sport:
“Italy put in a good performance. We dominated the game and deserved to win. Donnarumma had an outstanding match, making three or four incredible saves. Italy also showed good team spirit and proved something, which was not a given after their defeat to Belgium in the opening game. We did more and created more chances, so we deserved more. The manager told us he was happy with our performance, and I feel the same way. We played as a team, pressed high, won back possession on numerous occasions and did some of the things the manager had asked of us. We were missing that second goal. Perhaps we stopped playing a little after scoring the first, and that is something we need to work on. Overall, though, it was a good performance."
“Zidane’s arrival? There are a lot of positives. He asks different things of us, such as pressing immediately to win the ball back, playing plenty of one-on-one situations and showing great team spirit. We are demonstrating a lot in that respect, and even the forwards are putting in a lot of running. It was a good performance."
The French midfielder also discussed the upcoming fixtures awaiting him with Milan:
"First, we have Belgium at home. It will be important to finish top of the group. Then we will have a few days to switch off before returning to Milanello and focusing on our upcoming matches. I think we have nine games in 27 or 28 days, so it will be a tough period. We will have to be ready, and hopefully we won't have too many injuries. For now, my focus is on Monday’s match against Belgium."
