AC Milan and Napoli remain as the most interested clubs on Hellas Verona's attacking midfielder Mattia Zaccagni, according to a report. The 25-year-old is already on 12 goal contributions in Serie A this campaign.
In fact, Napoli are leading the race for Zaccagni, who wants to make the leap to a big club this summer, as reported by Calciomercato. The Partenopei started contacts with the club president Setti and sporting director D'Amico, on a basis of 15 million euros; discussions have begun, with the aim of closing the deal next summer.
For their part, AC Milan also had direct contact with Verona, to let them know that they are ready to make an offer, especially in the event of non-renewal of Hakan Calhanoglu. The steps forward in recent weeks towards the extension of the Turkish midfielder have been put on standby, but are yet to be closed. However, Zaccagni remains as an option for Maldini and Massara.
