Former AC Milan left-back Djamel Mesbah has spoken about his compatriot Ismael Bennacer in an exclusive interview given to TuttoMercatoWeb. Here are his words:
"I met him in the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon. He played with Arsenal under23, he was not a starter but he made two appearances, he was already strong. He is not afraid, he has personality, he chose to go to Serie B at Empoli where he played a whole championship. Now they have found his place, as a mezzala who can play two. He has made the leap in quality. I consider him as a top player, one of the most promising in Europe".
