Through the microphones of Sky Sport, former AC Milan head coach Fabio Capello had his say about the Superleague. Here are his words:
"The Super League was Berlusconi's idea, I worked on it too, he didn't think it was right that those who immediately came out of the Champions League would play only one match. They wanted to see the best matches at San Siro. But at the time there was the Iron Curtain, consequently there was no way to enter the Eastern European clubs. Starting from the moment PSG bought Neymar from Barcelona paying the 222 million clause. From there came incredible signings over the years. The coffers of these teams are empty now, but since a club has paid a clause similarly, all player engagements have also increased, and this is no longer sustainable. All the big names ask for 30 million".
