Paolo Scaroni, president of Milan spoke to the microphones of the sports event "Il Foglio Sportivo" about the new stadium project:
"From what I read that the problems of Inter are behind their backs. I am convinced that we need a new stadium, Milan needs it. We cannot go back to the top with the old Meazza."
"I think that the mayor and the municipal administration share this project, we absolutely have to accelerate. My great hope is always that the inauguration of the Olympics in 2026 can be done in the new stadium that we are going to build."
"Do we have to wait for the elections? I don't have the impression that the stadium is an election campaign theme. If Mayor Sala was against, he could have said it even earlier."
"I don't see great opposition. Many realize that the Meazza is obsolete for our time and then I believe that all of us Milanese people want to do a great project with a great investment that can relaunch our city that has spent more than an extremely difficult year."
