AC Milan are keeping man tracks alive in order to choose the best possible profile that suits the club's economic standards as well as technical project of coach Stefano Pioli. The aim is to find a good choice that will replace Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to what is reported by SportMediaset, the casting for the role of playmaker has started at Casa Milan: the favourite is Chelsea's Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech. However, he was signed by the Blues for a fee of 40 million euros and he earns a high salary around 6 million euros.
One of the other profiles that is very appreciated by Maldini and can be a low-cost deal is Atalanta's Josip Ilicic. The 33-year-old Slovenian attacking midfielder is not a regular starter anymore for coach Gasperini and can therefore leave in this summer market window.
Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid is also liked. He is 24 years old, returning from a 2-year-loan at Arsenal in the Premier League.
Rafinha, 28, from Paris Saint-Germain is in Maldini's list as well. The former Inter player is not a regular starter for PSG.
Finally, an interesting operation directed by super agent Jorge Mendes could take place which sees Rafael Leao switching clubs with James Rodriguez of Everton. For now there has been only one poll. But, on this front, attention must be kept on Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of the player and may decide to bring him back with him to Spain.
