La Gazzetta dello Sport's edition of today took stock of the AC Milan's situation in view of the next season campaign. The club is yet to define some operations: outgoing signings and incoming ones.
Starting with the sales, the Rossoneri have to thin out the squad by offloading some players in order to make some cash. In fact, Paolo Maldini would like to monetise from the sale of Tommaso Pobega and Andrea Conti.
As for centre-back Mattia Caldara, it will be up to Stefano Pioli to decide once having tried him in the training sessions.
Other names that could depart the club are Spanish right-winger Samu Castillejo, Norwegian jewel Jens Petter Hauge, and even talented Portuguese forward Rafael Leao.
Milan plans to strengthening the squad by confirming the stay of Brahim Diaz and Sandro Tonali after their loan moves have expired. As for Diogo Dalot, it seems complicated as Manchester United are playing hard ball.
Moving on to renewals, Milan will work on these three fronts: Franck Kessié, Davide Calabria, and captain Alessio Romagnoli. They all have expiring contracts in June 30, 2022.
Finally, work must be done to bring new signings to add technical value and qualities to the team of Pioli. The hunt for a centre forward continues as the main target is currently Olivier Giroud from Chelsea and there is also Luka Jovic from Real Madrid. In the midfield area, there is the name of Tiémoué Bakayoko and Dani Ceballos while Milan could continue making business with Los Blancos by attempting to take Alvaro Odriozola, 25-year-old right-back to alternate with Calabria.
