As learned by TuttoMercatoWeb, a meeting was held today in Milan regarding the new stadium concept between the mayor, Giuseppe Sala, and Milan management. AC Milan and Inter have been in discussions regarding the creation of a new San Siro sports district and need approval from the city.
The new district would include a new stadium for the two Milan clubs. Sala confirmed during the meeting his willingness to go through with the project, which is a positive sign for the clubs. Talks will continue between the parties to further advance the process.
Milan have called the San Siro home since 1926 and have many fond memories within the walls. The two clubs would like to create a new home, however, as the desire for a new stadium has been a talking point for some time now.
