French forward Lindsey Thomas was announced at AC Milan and gave her first interview as a rossonera. The player spoke to the Milan TV’s microphone about moving from Roma to AC Milan, her idols and more.
Here are her words:
On moving from Roma:
“I feel good very well I'm glad I made this choice and so I can’t wait to get started.”
On who she called after closing the deal:
“Who I first called was my mom and then my grandmother and then my aunt, those are they are most important people to me.”
On what she like the most at AC Milan:
“The thing I like the most at AC Milan is just to have the opportunity join this great club, that I’ve followed since their debut. The women’s sector has grown a lot in three years so I'm glad to be able to be part of this project and also to play a new competition with this club, which is the Champions League.”
On the growth of Women’s game in Italy:
“The Women’s football in Italy has grown so much and I’ve noticed it. After the World Cup in France all the clubs have invested more to grow the women's sector, so after 2, 3 years we can say that we have made a big step forward for the Women’s football in Italy.”
On her previous experiences against the rossonere:
“At Roma I’ve face Milan once or twice, they were a strong team, we struggled there at the beginning in the first matches, but we managed to balance the situation on the last ones. Now I am here, so we must win and do the best to bring the three points home.”
On the Milan players:
“We knew Giacinti also from the national team, and we were aware of the wing-back abilities as well, so we had to pay attention to all of them.”
On being at Milan:
“For me it is a new adventure, a fun one, a lot to discover, when you are player, you want to do it. I believe it will be a lot of new sensations, as a player and a person, I’ll be able to face new teams, new players from around the world and for me, it’s wonderful.”
On her role models:
“Male players? I like Lewandowski and Benzema and, female players, Le Sommer in France, Marozsán in Germany. I watched every big game and I think it’s important and also because I love the game so much.”
