Alessio Romagnoli, AC Milan team captain, saw his playing time greatly reduced since the arrival of Fikayo Tomori to the club in the middle of the last season.
The Italian centre-back is, however, currently playing to replace Simon Kjaer and also because the schedule has been packed with many games between Serie A and Champions League competitions.
The former Roma player has a contract with the Rossoneri which is set to expire in June 2022 and there is a risk that Milan can lose the central defender, represented by super agent Mino Raiola, on a free.
Now, Gianluca Di Marzio, transfer market expert journalist has confirmed that a renewal for the defender has been complicated as he said the following words to Sky Sports studios:
"We had forgotten about Romagnoli, AC Milan captain even though he is no longer the starter. But he has been playing lately. I think a renewal negotiation has never taken off."
