Milan won a very difficult and tough fixture against Torino tonight. Coach Stefano Pioli managed to lead his team to another three points in the league.
After the game, the boss was interviewed briefly by the club's official channels. Here are his statements:
"We knew it was going to be a complicated match. We expected a match like this, in the first half, we controlled. I'm happy with how the team played."
On the result:
"I find it hard to talk about the team's fluctuating performances. There may be suffering from time to time. When you don't concede a goal, it is easier to win games. The work that the forwards do is also important."
Pioli continued:
"Tomorrow morning we will meet immediately at Milanello to prepare for the next match. Then there will be time to rest for some. Many are now in the national team, then they come back and I immediately ask them to play. It's not easy."
On the attacking phase:
"We wanted to start with Leao more open and take advantage of his one on one. But we struggled to dribble from behind and so I preferred to bring Leao and Saele closer to Giroud."
On the positive results at home:
"We are more mature and we read the moments of the match better. And then there are the fans who give us a great hand." declared Pioli, "The credit for our results is also theirs, the fans are helping us a lot."
