AC Milan have an important issue that is certainly causing a big headache for the maanging directors at Casa Milan: it is Franck Kessié's contractual situation. The midfielder from Cote d'Ivoire has a deal which is due to expire at the end of the season and negotiations are getting really difficult.
The situation is that the former Atalanta man, through his entourage, is asking for a big salary which Milan has no intention of offering. The distance is quite remarkable between offer and demand. That is why, if the Rossonero number 79 does not lower down his financial claims, he will not have a future at Milanello.
AC Milan's plan to replace Kessié...
According to the latest news reported by Corriere dello Sport (relayed by Calciomercatonews.com), the Rossoneri management has made contacts with well-known FIFA agent Jorge Mendes. One of his clients is indeed a target of Paolo Maldini to replace Kessié in case of a farewell.
The newspaper reports that the player highlighted in red at the offices of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara is Renato Sanches. The 24-year-old midfielder plays for Lille currently. He has been there since his move out of Bayern Munich in 2019. In these two seasons he has scored 6 goals and 6 assists in 75 appearances, becoming one of the most rated players by the French club and an important pillar there.
Renato Sanches' contract is set to expire in June 2023. A move to Milanello could be a concrete possibility in June 2022 once the farewell of Franck Kessié becomes official. Lille could facilitate the operation in order to not lose their star for free.
