Reports continue to suggest that Red Star Belgrade's young striker, Marko Lazetic, is close to AC Milan. According to the latest news, he could arrive to Il Diavolo for a fee around 5 million euros plus bonuses.
The player has been on the radar of Torino for some time now. It seems that the Rossoneri, however, are now closer to securing a move for him.
Who is Marko Lazetic?
The starlet whose birthday is today, January 22, has a Serbian citizenship. He was born in Belgrade and has been playing football for many years for Red Star Belgrade. He came through the youth ranks and went on a loan spell to 'Graficar Belgrad' in the winter of 2021.
Lazetic is represented by agency "SPOCS Global Sports" which also looks after the interest of some interesting talents such as Sasa Kalajdzic of VfB Stuttgart and Junior Adamu of RB Salzburg. The attacker's current contract is due to expire in June 2024.
He stands at 192 centimetres tall. He is a physical player and likes to use his body against centre-backs who try to get the ball away from him. He has a great physique. He played in Europa League already for a few minutes in what was his debut against Ludogorets on December 25th, 2021. The attacker relies a lot on his size and uses it as strength point. Last season Lazetic made his Red Star debut before moving on loan to Graficar where he scored 4 goals in 14 appearances in the second division of the Serbian league. Since then, former Inter player and now-turned-coach, Dejan Stankovic, has given him more and more playing time to prove his worth.
So far this season, he scored 7 goals in 800 minutes played across all competitions. He managed to feature in 21 games.
Marko Lazetic is the nephew of a more familiar footballer: Nikola Lazetic who played in the past in Serie A for Torino, Genoa, Lazio, Siena and Chievo Verona among other clubs.
