AC Milan technical area director, Paolo Maldini, has spoken to the microphones of Sky Sport Italia before kick-off between Milan - Dinamo Zagreb. Here are his words:
"Final? I said that maybe we are not ready to think about arriving there this year. But I said that dreaming is a must because I believe that Milan is a team that the big teams would not want to face. Even if compared to the big names in the Champions League, we are behind. It is a path that we are doing, even in a hurry, then the field says its word. If the field will see protagonists, we must take the opportunity immediately."
Paolo Maldini added:
"I am very happy with the transfer market we have made. The goals along the way are changing because then there are also the economic ones. We are aware of all this, I think this year's team is stronger than last year."
On Rafael Leao and the renewal issue:
"We have already started talking to him, but for a long time, both with Rafa and with Bennacer and also with Kalulu. All renewals can be simple or not, in this case the player's will will make the difference."
Do you suffer on the stands more than on the pitch when you were a player?
"I can't sit still. Among other things, they continue to ask Riky Massara about things and he doesn't answer during the game. I struggle to bear it, but you get used to everything."
Paolo Maldini on the way this Milan operates:
"Next year we will have more revenue, the hard work has been done. Of course, to go and compete for the cup it takes something else, we know. It is a mathematical calculation. Of the 16 teams that qualified for the Round of 16, 14 were the most profitable. Dreaming is a must, otherwise I would not be here."
