Relevo has disclosed a parallel negotiation that was ongoing in the final moments of the summer transfer window in 2023, simultaneously for 26-year-old Morocco international Youssef En-Nesyri between Milan and Sevilla, and for 31-year-old Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi between the Rossoneri and Porto.
The Spanish website revealed the terms of the negotiation that had begun between Giorgio Furlani, CEO of the club, Geoffrey Moncada, Milan's sports area manager, and the Andalusian club. Porto's Iranian forward was the first choice for the Rossoneri, but if it didn't succeed, the main alternative was the Moroccan from Sevilla, for whom a verbal offer was also made.
En-Nesyri, Milan's Offer to Sevilla
Relevo, in addition to revealing the parallel operation Milan was conducting for Youssef En-Nesyri while negotiating with Porto for Mehdi Taremi, also unveiled the verbal contents of the proposal made by the Rossoneri to Sevilla in the final days of the market. In fact, the offer was based on: 5 million for the loan, 25 for the redemption, and a loan with an option of 5 million for Origi. In the deal, the Belgian forward Divock Origi, who was leaving Stefano Pioli's team, would also have been included. The offer was reportedly rejected with a single request for an immediate 30 million without any counteroffers.
At the end of the transfer market, Milan turned to Luka Jovic, who arrived from Fiorentina, while Origi moved in the final hours of the market to the Premier League's Nottingham Forest, on loan with a redemption clause of 5 million euros.
