Five hours of discussion, including heated debates, objections, and controversies, three interruptions, and a lot of tension with the presence of police officers in the room.
Against the opinion of the Promoting Committee, which had requested the withdrawal of the agenda item, the petition against the stadium project, accompanied by over 1300 signatures, submitted last July, was addressed in the council.
The agenda item was presented after the mayor's communications, who hoped for the return of a "civilised discussion," and after a "question time" that addressed the Democratic Party's request for detailed and precise information on the technical timing of meetings and discussions between the parties involved in the project.
According to the councillors, this question time did not "dispel the fog that has long enveloped the whole affair." It became the focus of a bitter confrontation between the majority and the minority, which opposed the decision to turn the petition into a motion without the direct involvement of the promoters. The public also joined in, expressing dissent and contesting the majority's statements on several occasions.
The position of the municipal administration, as outlined in the response document presented by the mayor, was clear. It reiterated that "the private entity is presenting a private intervention on private land of which it is the owner."
