Stefano Pioli, speaking to Milan TV after the Atalanta vs. Milan match at Gewiss Stadium, said:
"In the first half, we performed better, but we couldn't find the winning spark. They did better in the second half, but the game was balanced. The regret is being left with one player less towards the end when we could have sought victory. The loss slows us down completely. What do I take home? A defeat. I would have taken different feelings with a 2-2, but instead, we lose a game where we could and should have done better."
Regarding the Champions League, Pioli said:
"We were careless in their goals; we should limit them as much as possible. We saw a team without ideas, in confusion. Against Newcastle, it will be difficult; we have only one result available, but I believe we'll interpret it well and with conviction because we aim to stay in Europe."
