According to journalist Claudio Raimondi's report on SportMediaset, it seems that the AC Milan club management continues its search for a new reinforcement for the defensive department in these last days of the winter transfer market.
There are three candidates: Trevoh Chalobah, Jakub Kiwior, and Lilian Brassier. For the first, Chelsea has opened up to a loan with a buyout option, but there are reflections at Casa Milan regarding the numerous physical problems the Blues' center-back has had. As for the Polish player, Arsenal continues to resist a loan with an option to buy, possibly considering only an obligation to buy instead.
For Brassier, however, the asking price of 15 million euros from Brest remains too high. There is hope at Milan that in the coming days, the French club may lower its demands. In this final part of the winter transfer market, there will be no new arrivals in midfield and attack.
The big offensive acquisition has been postponed to the summer. Currently, Milan's major target is Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. And who knows, the two management teams might discuss it this Saturday during the match between the Rossoneri and Bologna at San Siro. Since Olivier Giroud is not expected to renew his contract expiring at the end of the season, the Rossoneri needs to sign a top-level striker, and at the moment, the favorite is the Dutchman.
The deal might include the permanent transfer of Alexis Saelemaekers, who is currently on loan at Bologna with a buyout option set at 12 million euros. The overall operation for Zirkzee is estimated to be around 40 million euros, as relayed via Milan News.
