During the usual report from outside Casa Milan for Sky Sport 24, journalist Peppe Di Stefano provided an update on the future of the Milan coaching bench, which, barring incredible twists, should be entrusted to former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca.
These were his statements, as relayed via Milan News:
"The path leads to Fonseca. Milan is already planning future work with the Portuguese coach, who, barring very surprising developments, will be the next Milan coach. A three-year contract awaits him, a choice made by the club in recent weeks. It is a decision that will mirror, both from a human perspective and from a technical and tactical one, the 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation of Stefano Pioli. We are just waiting for the official announcement. When could this official announcement come? Inevitably, it could come in the next few days or at most next week. It has nothing to do with the return of the team, Milan, but it’s just a matter of timing because we are at the final agreement stage, contractually. We repeat, barring unexpected surprises, which are unlikely, Fonseca will be the new coach, the leader of Milan."
