Olivier Giroud, the French striker who bid farewell to Milan in May, explained to Le Figaro the reasons why he decided to leave Milan and move to Los Angeles to live and work on the field:
"It's a bit of everything. Being away from my family during international weeks, traveling a lot, playing more matches weighs on me. I made a career choice more suited to my family by signing with Los Angeles FC. Everyone knows that when you go to the United States, it's harder to return to the National Team. In any case, I feel undeniable physical and mental fatigue."
On the future, Giroud said:
"I don't think I will become a coach. When you are the coach, you have even less time; it's even worse than when you are a player (laughs). My wife will kick me out of the house if I leave again (smiles). I would like to stay in football because it's what I know best. If it involves working for a club, I want to learn the trade of sporting director. It will be another adventure."
